It’s that time of the week again! Let’s do a quick recap of what we’ve been working on this week. With PAX still up in the air we are still looking at what to take and how we are going to present the game. Firstly, the games we are taking to showcase ShapeVS.
“Shape Flag enters the ring”
Today we will cover Shape Flag, here are the cliff notes:
Top Down Controls
Shape Flag uses the top down, tank controls we designed for the game. One of the main aspects of the game is that you should be able to play it with minimal difficulty. So moving and turning is bound to the analogue stick and shoot/dash are on two buttons. 3 controls are all you need!
Limited Movement
Did you collect the flag? You better run! To balance it out, the player with the flag has a longer dash timer and can’t shoot. Use your quick wits and in game items to get it back to your base!
Interactable Game Objects
Spinning shields, on/off platforms, teleporters and more! The maps will have unique properties that will change how the games maybe played.
WEAPONS!
Right now 5 weapons are planned. Cannon, SMG, Sniper, Grenade and Shotgun. More may come but we wanted to add variety to the combat from the base, lets see what happens.
Maps
Shape Flag will launch with at least 4 maps, two small (see above) and two large. The maps will be built around the interactable objects and to create unique interactions.
