It’s been a hell of a week here in Tasmania, it hasn’t stopped raining and is expected to rain for another 4 days or something. So whilst the the weather ain’t great let’s go over this weeks developments!
The main goal of this week was working with our amazing audio engineer, Aaron C. Edwards and starting to make some headway on the audio. Aaron is an exceptionally talented audio generalist with experience the industry and being part of such projects like Tiny Quest, Dead Static Drive and Civilisation 6.
The team has spent the weak breaking down what they want from the sound, as the game has moved from a hyper focused couch competitive game to a more jackbox like game in which is ideal to be played in bursts we wanted the audio to match.
We looked to games like Donut County and Pikuniku for inspiration as well as games like Super Meat Boy for the that faster pace. This also tied in well to the small changes that were made over time to the gameplay as we listened to various tracks from the games
