In 2017, Down Tilt joined the esports scene in Australia with a focus on fighting games and grassroots growth within Tasmania and the country. We signed our first player, PAZX, after long conversations and trial run in the US. We have continued this relationship and will be moving forward into 2020 and beyond, but with the current state of the world and COVID-19 we have been supporting them in not just tournaments but in other ventures such as streaming and community building.
“DT | JP | PAZX and DT | Luma competing in a doubles set”
Firstly we will be talking about our longest player, DT | JP | PAZX, who joined us back in 2017. They are once again signing on with us in the 2020/21 seasons. As you may have noticed they have a second team in the name. JP is JP esports, a local Tasmania team, that operates like a crew of community members. During the initial COVID-19, PAZX teamed up with JP and has participated in some of their content creation. With all parties agreed we have allowed PAZX to stay on with JP as a crew member and represent DT at events. We are eager to help them grow as they compete in online tourneys and look at a return to streaming!
We also want to welcome back DT | Luma, after a stellar first year we have agreed to move forward with the partnership once again. Luma defines homegrown talent, sitting at the top of the Tas PR and being a defining force amongst the scene and its growth, we are happy to once again have them join the roster.
It’s going to be an exciting 2020/21 season but for now with everything on hold you can catch both PAZX and Luma competing at online events, catch them on various streams, and hopefully their own soon. We are eager to share more about the partnerships with Down Tilt and the growth we have planned once we return.
