from the Down Tilt Team
Hi everyone, it’s been some crazy times here in Tasmania right now and with this comes the need to change up our approach to how we are doing events. From our CEO to our TO’s we have worked together to formulate a plan of action that we believe will allow us to still run some events whilst also maintaining a safe environment for our community, these changes are coming into effect this week, here they are:
Cancelling of Highway Havoc
The biggest recent change is Highway Havoc is now being cancelled. To lower exposure, we will be instead offering other events on Tuesday’s such as online tournaments or community game nights.
Rotational Tournaments (Face to Face and Online)
Starting this week we will be swapping to a rotational roster for tournaments. Instead of weekly on-site tournaments, we will be operating on-site on the week and then online the next. We will be announcing details about the online events and how they will run closer to the time of events.
Mandatory Registration and Limited Attendance for Face to Face Events
To make sure we keep exposure to a limited event we will be heavily monitoring the number of people for spaces, this means with our sizing we can offer a max of 14 people on site. Taking into account 2 TOs’s this means onsite players will be capped at 12.
To make sure you can secure a spot please contact a TO or register via our Smash.GG link that goes live with events.
New Health Standards
The other change is that we will be updating our new health standards and maintaining them as they move forward. These include mandatory double vaccination status with proof, emergency contacts, 1.5m social distancing, masks, hand sanitiser as well as any changes as we continue to evolve the scene.
We are also organising other ways to keep the space as safe as possible for attendees.
Important Links
Whilst we know it’s not what people want we are fortunate that we are in Tasmania and still have the potential to run events but do note at any point we may cancel any and all events depending on the situation. Right now with the numbers how they are, the location of cases and the such we are confident we can do some things but will be doing anything we possibly can to make sure we prioritise safety.
