Trucks made the rare decision this season to commit to a main, and it paid off in spades. His Pokemon Trainer, championed by his Charizard, was nearly a solo pick all season, dominating most tournaments and coming away with by far the most bracket wins.
Cohen made waves this season with his Mario alongside new picks like Shiek. Newly motivated by the BAM announcement, we expect Cohen to go far in the coming months.
Jai2go continued his well storied domination in the Launceston Smash scene this season with a solid 3rd placing, only dropping behind Cohen by a few games. Jai’s incredible consistency with his placings and matchups made him a threat to all players in the scene. His midseason move to the mainland has left a hole within the scene and he will be sorely missed.
Gerald makes a striking return with his new character, Sephiroth. As this new main developed, he experienced a weak start to the season, but finished strong with a win in the final week. With BAM on the horizon, he is warming up his trademark Chrom again, and we look forward to seeing the havoc this dual-character roster can wreak.
An exceptional season from our resident Bowser, barely missing out on the top 4 position this season. With fantastic placements and close sets all around with the best players, we can expect big things from her in the near future.
Mr President has landed in his all but reserved placing on the PR this season. The gatekeeper of the upper echelon of the Launceston Smash Scene, he has shown some strong performances this season and a late season switch to Pyra/Mythra will be very interesting to follow going into the next season!
LargeMarge has put up some solid performances during this season of the Smash in Launceston and their focus on shifting their mentality has really shown. Their consistent placings and matchups have made it hard to deny LargeMarge a spot on the PR as they are still a dominant force in the scene!
8. Sadlife
Sadlife breaks onto the top 8 this season, with his exceptional Ike making waves in the bracket. Despite some absences towards the end of the season, we are promised big things from his Pyra and Mythra, and look forward to his performance.
