from the Down Tilt Team
Three months of the year down and moving into April already, the year has flown by and with it we are looking at implementing more of the changes from our survey. Here are a few updates of what attendees can expect to roll out and what we have planned for the future:
Monthlies Price Increase
Starting with the April monthly we will be increasing the buy in/pot amount to $10 following player feedback. The main goal of this is to separate monthlies from weeklies and have more on the line for the players.
Both Tekken 7 and Smash Ultimate will increase from $5 to $10 with venue fee staying the same at $5
Venue fee covers entrance into the side events we have on the day.
We hope that this will encourage more players to travel and add an air of higher stakes to what is our big tournament for the month to help with state rankings.
Tuesday Night Fights becomes Highway Havoc
We’ve been wanting a name change for a while and this month we will roll out the new name. Highway Havoc comes in line with Roadside Rumble to help the tournament stand out.
This also gives us freedom as following the survey we understand that 2, sometimes 3 nights to tournaments can be a bit much so if we need to move the day or time in the future we have some leverage.
For now though Highway Havoc will continue on Tuesday’s starting from the 13th of April.
Games List
With Guilty Gear Strive being delayed we have had to change our games list and do some moving around.
For now the games list moving forward will be
Power Rangers Battle for the Grid
DragonBall FighterZ
Street Fighter III: Third Strike
These will rotate every week eventually we will add Strive into the mix and as always depending on popularity we will make any necessary decisions.
If any new games come around we will make sure to try and get them into the list but for now the above games are our focus.
Hopefully that gives a little bit of insight on what to expect over the next couple of months, we will also be starting phase 2 of renovations and are looking forward to having an amazing venue for tournaments!
