It’s finally here, nearly one year since launch the first-ever Smash Bros. Ultimate Tas Power Rankings is out, it has been a triumphant journey to get here, from two separated scenes for so long to one unified region. New TO’s have risen, veterans have stood back and watched the new generation rise, as well as the growth in talent and interest in the game, Tasmania is ready to be put on the map. So without further ado, here is the first part of our reveal! Side note: please note the following art is a parody and we have nothing but love and respect for what the team at Panda Global does.
The Hidden Bosses: These are players who have shown exceptional skills this season but failed to meet the 10 by not meeting requirements as set by the panel. All of these players are great in their own right and represent a lot of the talent Tas as a region has to offer. From old hands to new players, if these players continue to play as they have been this last season they will no doubt be making the next DTR.
Tezz: “I don’t even play this game” the battle cry of Tezz since launch but they have shown their knowledge of fighting games and ability to make others play against themselves. Some very solid showings at the larger events have earned them a well-deserved spot on this list.
DT | MaxKiNG: The KiNG himself, the NorTAS TO has shown their skills in their pairing with Palutena. A diverse touring schedule that saw him attend almost every event and a variety of interstate events has seen strong growth in MaxKiNG as a player and a TO.
Varous: One of the many returning Smash 4 top performers from SoTAS who has shown great aptitude and skill in their return. With his go-to Donkey Kong and some Wario appearing, Various is no doubt set for a great run in Season 2 especially with other S4 players returning.
