from the ShapeVS Dev Team
Once again we are back, after a relaxing holiday period we have jumped straight back in to development. We recently held another community play session for four of the release games for ShapeVS to help build upon what we have currently in the pipeline. So this week we are going to go over some questions we have received and breakdown some answers.
“Shape Fly has received an update!”
Q. How far along is ShapeVS?
A. Right now we are about 30% of the way through our main goals, we have organised our launch games and are beginning final testing, there are some big announcements due to launch this month so fingers crossed that all goes smoothly.
Q. What are the release games?
A. The current play is the following: Shape Battle, Shape Fly, Shape Move and Shape Rush. Whilst there are others that have come along like Shape Flag and Shape Zone, we wanted to have as much of a game spread as possible to showcase the various control options. But depending on how development goes this could change to include more but we are sold on not moving lower than the four for launch.
Q. What has been the biggest change?
A. The art style 100%. The new direction has been really good for us in setting tone, music and finalising a narrative that helps just tie everything together. From the reason, the games were made, to begin with to the new menus. It has been a big help to get everything blending together.
“You can now wishlist ShapeVS on Steam!”
Q. Will there be customisation?
A. Previously we have shown off the taunts and the various ones you can unlock. We are definitely looking at expanding the selection of customisation players can have from colours to possibly even shapes themselves.
Q. Will there be a single-player option?
A. There is something in development, it’s down the line but we are looking at being able to experience the story behind Dr Reginald Pierce and the ShapeTECH institute. It’s still in the early development phase but we have been getting something ready hopefully to show before the end of the year.
Q. What is happening with ShapeMini?
A. Due to the recent art style and gameplay reworks we have had to slightly delay ShapeMini bus rest assured for those keen we are working on some options for you.
