from the ShapeVS team
It’s that time of the week, it’s #ScreenshotSaturday, so why not pair the two together and give a quick update on what we have been working on since the last update. So let’s have a quick look!
Shape Move got some new updates following our last playtest session. The team sat down and played the various modes with the new tweaks, the biggest takeaway was leaning into the madness and randomness of the game.
So not only did we mess with how many items will spawn but things such as fall speed, size and frequency were all tweaked to create a more engaging game. We will continue to play around with these options and look at adding that much-needed polish.
Shape Flag and Shape Battle were the next biggest changes, similar to what we had done with Shape Rush and reworking the level and gameplay to make the game a bit more fluid. Maps have been redesigned to fit the new UI and give a bit more space.
More interactable objects and such have been added to give the game a much-needed flair and slight facelift. Still unsure about where the levels overall art style is going but it will get there as development continues.
ShapeVS continues to be going along well, Shape Tag is being handled by Alex and other games are falling into place. Not bad for a team doing this as a side gig. Thanks for reading!
